Back to the future: the Krone E-Mobility Play Days with 39,500 visitors

39,500 ‘electrified’ e-mobility fans, 3,700 electric car test drives, some 50 renowned partner companies and international e-xperts presenting the innovations and technologies of tomorrow – today: This is how you could summarise 2018’s Krone E-Mobility Play Days at the Red Bull Ring.

On a single weekend, visitors were given the chance to get behind the wheel of an electric car, experience e-racing (Formula E, MotoE, Electric GT) up close and personal, gaze at spectacular prototypes from the future (Audi e-tron, Virtual Vehicle and E-Firetrucks), attend lectures at “The Red Bulletin Innovator Stage” and taken in drone show-races courtesy of the “Drone Champions League”. Thus, the Krone E-Mobility Play Days once again lived up to their reputation of being the largest meeting of the electric mobility industry in Austria.

Once again, celebrity guests could be found among the e-mobility fans such as Austria’s most successful Olympian Felix Gottwald, Armin Assinger, air racer Petr Kopfstein and race drivers such as Lucas Auer, Emma Kimiläinen, Patricia Kaiser, Nico Müller and Rahel Frey.

The 2018 Krone E-Mobility Play Days are now behind us but we are already looking into the future – together with the key note speakers on “The Red Bulletin Innovator Stage”. A future, that is, we have every reason to look forward to. After all, it will introduce many technologies into almost every area of our daily lives that are environmentally responsible as well as respectful toward future generations and packed with solutions that will make our lives easier and safer.

“The future is electric. Future generations won't even remember loud, stinking cars. The sun provides us with electricity and there is enough electricity for everyone,”e:mobil’s" Herbert Starmühler predicts. The future of mobility is not only electric, however, but also safer and more comfortable, for instance thanks to the sensor solutions provided by amsAG: “E-mobility is becoming more and more important for the sustainable development of our lives and society. We at ams are proud to be able to deliver the sensor technology that will provide a cleaner tomorrow – today.”

‘Electrical’ and ‘autonomous’ are two key words of the future that are also essential to Michael Friedmann and his employer Rosenbauer. “We have the responsibility to pass on this world to the next generations in a good state. We need to think about trends such as climate change and demographic developments to derive solutions,” says the manufacturer of E-Firetrucks. My Esel’s Christoph Frauendorfer agrees: “For us, true innovation always includes the use of renewable resources, regionalism and local value creation.” DI Peter Umundum from Österreichische Post AG even talks about a quantum leap: “The future of the mail service lies in even quicker service and more comfortable solutions. For this reason, we already massively invest in capacities and innovation.”

The future of mobility has begun and we are looking forward to further exiting chapters to be opened at the Red Bull Ring!
