February 20 - 23 2020

Kleine Zeitung Tennis in the Box - Adventure Padel at the Red Bull Ring

From 20 to 23 February – during the 2020 spring break in Styria – padel tennis will come to the Red Bull Ring on a large scale. For one week, the track’s pits will turn into playing fields and the place where, at other times, international racing teams prepare their cars, will host Spielberg’s first padel tennis tournament. All participants take part in a draw for great prizes and some also wait for the winners in the various categories, of course. The matches are played by teams of two while long rallies make padel tennis an amazing experience for players and spectators alike!

Free training days for optimal preparation

Due to the high demand, Projekt Spielberg offers additional training days in the Red Bull Ring boxes for all those who want to try out the new trend sport of padel tennis:

Four days of sporting entertainment for the whole family

Usually, this is where racers like Max Verstappen and Marc Márquez park their machines. On these four days, however, every sports enthusiast is given the chance to become a star. In February 2020, the pits of the Red Bull Ring won’t see international motorsport teams fight for glory. Instead the pit gates of Austria’s Grand Prix track will open for amateur athletes of all ages – from occasional sportspeople to ambitious competitors. This unique event is titled “Kleine Zeitung Tennis in the Box – Adventure Padel am Red Bull Ring” and the game provides four days of sporting entertainment for the whole family.

Padel tennis is the next big thing

In Spain and Argentina, it has already become a national sport and now it is on its way to also become one of Europe’s most popular trend sports. The “Kleine Zeitung Tennis in the Box – Adventure Padel am Red Bull Ring” is endorsed by celebrities such as tennis pro Barbara Schett, the former no. 7 in the world and best female Austrian player of all time in the WTA ranking: “This game offers dynamic and action-packed fun in a small space: I can warmly recommend padel tennis to all those who love exercising! You get the hang of it extremely quickly and its high fun factor makes it appealing even to less experienced players. ‘Tennis in the box’ is a great way to get to know the sport!”
