The 7 essential things to do in the F1 FanZone

Local Styrian specialities, cold drinks, motorsports action as far as the eye can see: it’s all part of the F1 FanZone at the Red Bull Ring.

#1 Sample the food and drinks

If you’re hungry, then make tracks for Food Street to enjoy a proper taste of Austrian food. And slake your thirst with a tasty beverage. There’s coffee, beer or #ilikesummer – have you already tried it – and of course soft drinks.

#2 Find out what its like to be an F1 driver

Disover what it feels like to be a Formula one driver in the F1 FanZone: try your hand in the Pitstop Challenge and try to change tyres in record time: 1.9 seconds is the time to beat. Head to the Reflex-Challenge afterwards, where you can test your reaction times to see if you’re quick enough to be a racing driver. Now that you’ve tested your skills, you can head to the two simulators: ride around the track in the Simulator Experience or go to the GameZone where you can drive a virtual hot lap. Good news is: You can crash and destroy the car and no one’s going to get angry with you.

Want more action? Head to the centre of the F1 FanZone and try the Rocket Bungy. Yep, you can fly the friendly skies over Spielberg!

#3 Amazing machine

Check out the display of famous racing cars on show in the Legend Cars Exhibition. This year has a French flavour with a special collection of cars from the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Or take a step out of this world with a close look at Felix Baumgartner’s Stratos capsule, his helmet und suit which are on site from thursday to sunday, and get all facts and figures from the famous Red Bull Stratos mission: a must see for all fans of extreme sports. Felix Baumgartner himself will visit the Grand Prix of Austria on Sunday at 11:15 am and will be available to sign autographs in a meet-and-greet session.

#4 Get your perfect souvenir photo

Get in on the action and personalised souvenir photo of you waving the chequered flag at the end of the Austrian Grand Prix or celebrating on the top step of the podium.

One and only: Everyone loves a selfie but these unique souvenir photos put you in the frame and at the heart of the action at the Red Bull Ring.

#5 See the Formula 1 stars up close

If you want to meet your Formula 1 stars face to face, then make a note of the autograph-signing sessions. The times are as follows:

  • When: Saturday, July 8, 2017 | 17:15 to 18:20
  • Who: Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull Racing

#6 Get a souvenir

There are souvenir and merchandise shops from all the Formula 1 teams around the event site. Treat yourself to a nice souvenir or pick out the perfect gift for an F1 fan back home.

#7 Bring the family!

The Formula One weekend at Spielberg is made for guests of every age. Besides the beer-fuelled Camping Vans, the Family Area is an oasis family-friendly F1 fun at the Red Bull Ring.
