VETTEL LEADS THE WAY IN FP3

The third and final Free Practice session went ahead at 12 o’clock and it was Sebastian Vettel leading the way with a lap time of 1:04,070. He was quicker than Lewis Hamilton, Valteri Bottas, Kimi Räikkönen, Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo.

QUALIFYING AS IT HAPPENED

15:00 The final fight for the grid spots at the Red Rull Ring is on!
15:09 Charles Leclerc loses a part of his front wing in between the last two corners, but the damage is repaired quickly.
15:22 Mercedes dominates in Q1 with Hamilton in front of Bottas and Räikkönen.
15:41 Vettel sets the quickest lap in Q2, just ahead of Hamilton and Bottas.
15:48 The last 12 minutes in the fight for the pole position. There is an investigation against Vettel going on, as he may have hampered Carlos Sainz.
16:00 The seven fastest qualifying drivers are Valtteri Bottas ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel, followed by Kimi Räikkönen, Max Verstappen, Romain Grosjean and Daniel Ricciardo.
18:04 Vettel is demoted by 3 grid places for hindering Sainz.

“We were able to make step by step progress with our setup on course of the whole weekend. The car has a good balance and it felt perfect. I felt more was possible until the final qualifying, I now want the win tomorrow,” stated Bottas at the end of the day.

PREINING EARNS POLE IN PORSCHE MOBIL SUPERCUP

There’s a real chance for local fans to hear their national anthem in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup: Thomas Preining from Linz dominated proceedings to take pole position for the 16 lap encounter on Sunday, which begins at 12:15 local time..
