When do the two MotoGP races take place?

The "Michelin® Grand Prix of Styria 2021" will take place on 8th of August 2021 and the second race weekend of the two-wheel premium class will take place on the Red Bull Ring on 15th of August 2021 - the "Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich 2021".

Will the races be shown on TV?

The millions of motorsport fans around the world will have the opportunity to follow the races on the Red Bull Ring via TV and online. You can find the broadcast dates in detail on your local television programme.

Is there an audio description for visually impaired spectators?

Audio description for visually impaired and blind persons is available. The action on the race track is presented by experienced commentators. The audio description is broadcast on radio frequency 94.2 Megahertz (MHz), the track announcer on frequency 92.3 MHz. Live commentary is available for all practise sessions and races and the programme can be received in the entire main grandstand area and beyond.

What is the "Ring Radio" an how can I receive it?

With the "Ring Radio" you are always up to date when it is about the „Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich 2021“. On the frequency 92.3 MHz the track announcer will be broadcasted on the whole event site. You are always fully informed about the trainings, qualifyings and all race decisions at the Red Bull Ring.

How does the cashless payment system work?

Only cashless payment is possible at the entire event site. Cash as a "payment method" is omitted - with a few exceptions at events.

Is there a seating order on the grandstands?

All seats are numbered. Please find information on your seat on your valid MotoGP ticket.

Are there charging stations for e-cars on site?

There are no charging stations at any of the temporary event parking areas.

What rules will there be on entry? (e.g. vaccination, negative test result)

Please note that upon entry to the Red Bull Ring grounds, you must be readily available to show proof in German or English that you are tested, vaccinated, or recovered or the EU Digital COVID Certificate. Valid proof is required for each first entry per day to the event site.


PCR (72h from sample collection); Antigen (authorised body / 48h from sample collection); Digital self-test (recorded in an official data processing system of the federal states / 24h from sample collection); Student test Ninja (full validity for 48h from last entry (sticker) - not valid on Sunday!).

Children from the age of 12 must be tested


Exempt from compulsory testing for 6 months after expiry of infection!

The following papers serve as proof

- Certificate of segregation
- Medical confirmation of a molecular biological confirmed infection

Proof of neutralising antibodies counts for 3 months from the date of testing.

Vaccination (time):

Due to the changing legal situation as of 15 August, the first vaccination is no longer considered sufficient for the purposes of the 3G certificate as of this day, Sunday 15 August, 0:00. If you do not have the second vaccination at this time, a negative test result must be carried in addition to the first vaccination for the first entry to the event area.

- The first vaccination is valid from the 22nd day after the 1st sting for a maximum of 3 months from the date of vaccination.
- The 2nd sting extends the validity period by a further 6 months (thus a total of 9 months from the 1st sting).
- Vaccines for which only one vaccination is scheduled (Janssen - Johnson & Johnson) are valid from the 22nd day after vaccination for a total of 9 months from the date of vaccination
- For recovered persons who have previously been vaccinated once, the vaccination is valid for 9 months from the date of vaccination.

- Comirnaty from the manufacturer BioNTech/Pfizer
- Moderna from the manufacturer Moderna
- Vaxzevira from the manufacturer AstraZeneca
- Janssen from the manufacturer Janssen (Johnson & Johnson)

Is there a Covid testing facility on site at the Red Bull Ring?

Yes, there is a test station on site. Antigen and PCR tests are available with a fee of - Antigen: € 33 / PCR: € 99.

How does access work with the “3G” rule (test, recovery, vaccination)?

1. The supervising staff will be in the parking lot asking each individual for their proof of one of the “3G”’s (test, recovery, vaccination).

2. A valid proof of one of the 3G’s must be presented at the checkpoint in combination with a valid event ticket. A wristband with a QR code will then be handed out.

3. QR wristband and event ticket will be scanned for access to the event area.

Are masks mandatory?

Masks are not mandatory in the entire outdoor area of the event site. Masks are mandatory indoors, e.g. in the fan shop.

Getting there
How can I get there?

There are plenty of ways to get to the Spielberg. We strongly recommend to leave your own vehicle at home and choose an alternative way to travel. You can find all your options HERE.

How can I avoid traffic jams?

For a stress-free journey, we recommend you travel by public ÖBB trains or by bus. Postbus offers coaches from all over Austria especially for the MotoGP weekend. For those travelling from the immediate vicinity, free Spielberg shuttle buses will be available from Knittelfeld railway station and from Judenburg bus station (Postgasse). The shuttle buses operate at regular intervals from Friday to Sunday between 8.00 am and 8.00 pm. You can find more information in the Spielberg App or directly HERE!
If you still want to come with your own car, we recommend arriving as early as possible. To save your nerves and to be on the safe side, you should plan an arrival time before 7.30 am.

When do the parking spaces open?

Parking areas are open from 1.00 pm at Thursday and from 7.00 am from Friday to Sunday.

Is parking for people with disabilities provided?

Wheel chair users who have purchased a ticket for the start-finish grandstand are granted special parking rights allowing them to drive right up to the Red Bull Ring. The grandstand is equipped with a wheel chair ramp as well as toilets on the same level as the grandstand seats.

Specially signposted parking spaces in all parking areas are available to all those who have purchased a ticket for disabled fans. Find more information HERE.

Is the parking for free?

Onsite parking is free (excluding buses and trucks). On site the parking will only be available on grass.

Are there parking spaces for motorcycles? If so, where are they located?

Special parking spaces for motorcycles are available. You can find a parking map HERE and in the Spielberg App in the section "Arrival".

Can I bring motorcycle helmet onto the event site?

Yes, you can bring motorcycle helmet onto the event site.

Can I hand my motorcycle or bicycle helmet in at the cloakroom?

For biker there is the opportunity to hand the helmet in at the cloakroom for a fee of 9 euros. The cloakrooms are in the parking lots P5, P7, P10 & P11.

Are there still tickets for the race weekend?

Are there box offices open on site?

Yes, box offices are open on site.

Since 25 May, there has been an entry ban from the UK. What happens to tickets that have already been purchased?

Due to the current entry regulations from Great Britain, tickets that have already been purchased will be refunded and the full purchase price will be reimbursed, provided that you have purchased them from Projekt Spielberg or (ticket refund)

It is not clear whether I will be allowed to leave my country of origin (especially UK and USA). Is it possible to cancel the tickets in the event of a ban on international travel?

If it is not possible to leave your country of origin due to legal or official regulations on the race weekend, you can request a refund of the purchase price (ticket refund).

Do I need a ticket for my child?

Children aged 14 and under (born no later than 2007) free of charge (not including VIP)

  • A childrens-ticket must be booked.
  • IDs will be checked on-site.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket.
In 2020 my child received a free ticket. Why would I have to pay full price for the child this year?

If a child ticket was transferred from 2020 to 2021 as part of the ticket swap option, it will also be valid as a child ticket in 2021.

My ticket got lost / damaged. What can I do?

Will there be signing sessions with the drivers?

Unfortunately, no autograph sessions or other interactions with the teams are feasible at the MotoGP events this year.

Which items can I take with me to the area?

Can I take drinks with me?

Plastic bottles and cans (amount of personal use) can be taken to the event area.

Are cameras allowed?

Cameras and video cameras with batteries for private use are allowed.

Are coolers allowed?

Coolers are not allowed.

Are portable camping chairs allowed in the standing room area?

Camping chairs can be taken to the general admission area.

Are pyrotechnics allowed?

All kinds of pyrotechnics (fireworks, smoke bombs,...) are prohibited the whole racing weekend.

Are helmets allowed at the area?

Helmets can be taken to the area.

Is there a possibility to store helmets?

For bikers there is a chance to store clothes depending on availability for a fee of 9 €. The wardrobes are at the parking spaces P5, P7, P10 & P11.

What does the Spielberg App offer and what can I expect?

The Spielberg App gives you direct access to Austrias loveliest playground. There are two sections in the app – one for Projekt Spielberg, one for motorsports. The Projekt Spielberg part gives you information region surrounding the Red Bull Ring including tips on hotels, restaurants and sights. In the motorsports-section you’ll find information about the Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich – including traffic, program, arrival or the current weather situation. Find more information HERE.

Terms & Conditions – MotoGP ™

It is a condition of public admission to the event MotoGP ™ 2021 (“Event”) that all ticketholders comply with the following rules:

  1. The ticket is purchased for the Event. The date of the Event and/or the support program may be subject to change without refund of monies or exchange of ticket. With regard to the special conditions granted for individual ticket categories, Projekt Spielberg GmbH & Co KG reserves the right to change or restrict the conditions, number of offers and duration at any time. Tickets made available free of charge or at a discount can generally or in number be linked to the purchase of non-reduced tickets. Up to two free children's tickets can be purchased with the purchase of an adult ticket, subject to availability. With regard to the event, refunds or exchanges are excluded, except in the event of cancellation of the event, unless in this case other legal provisions apply. No booking charge will be refunded if the Event is cancelled. No tickets are transferable to other events. Tickets to the Event are strictly nontransferable and not for resale. No ticket for the Event shall be sold or offered for sale for any form of fee or reward without the prior written consent of the Promoter first being obtained and without complying with these terms and conditions in all respects. No ticket for the Event shall be used by any person for advertising, promotional or commercial purposes including without limitation, prizes, competitions, contests, sweepstakes or packaged with hospitality or other products without the prior written consent of the Promoter and Dorna Sports S.L. (“DORNA”) first being obtained. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse admission to (or eject from) the Venue to any person (a) not complying with these terms and conditions or (b) who is in possession of a ticket which has been sold or used other than in compliance with these terms and conditions.
  2. For good and valuable consideration, which receipt is acknowledged, the ticket holder grants DORNA and the Circuit and their designees the right to use his/her image and/or likeness in any live or recorded display or other transmission or reproduction of the event, including without limitation his/her rights to publicity and/or commercial exploitation.
  3. You must not make, create, store, record or transmit any kind of sound recording, visual footage or audio-visual footage (Recording), or store, record or transmit any information or other data, including official timing results, performance, telemetry, weather or race control data (Data) of, at, or in relation to the Event. It is forbidden to take into the Venue any equipment that may enable you to do the aforementioned acts. Personal electronic devices (Including still image cameras, mobile telephones and other handheld personal communications devices, excluding drones) are permitted within the Venue unless otherwise advised, provided that any Recording, Data and any Image, including photographic Images and any still pictures derived or capable of being derived from a Recording (Image) of the Event that is recorded, stored and/or created thereon is used for personal, private and non-commercial purposes only.
  4. As a condition of entry to the Venue you agree that (a) the use of any such Recording, Data or Image for any form of public advertisement display, commercial gain or for any other purpose (except for your private enjoyment) without the prior written consent of DORNA is strictly forbidden and will constitute a breach of these terms and conditions for which you may be liable; and (b) on request by the Promoter or DORNA, you shall assign to DORNA in writing the copyright and all other intellectual property in any Image or Recording that you create, make, store or record of, at or in relation to the Event; and (c) you consent to the use by DORNA (and by any third party authorized by DORNA from time to time) for the purposes of or in connection with any publication, exhibition or broadcast (including any advertising or promotional literature, campaign or material) in any media worldwide and approved by DORNA at any still or moving picture images taken at the Event where such Image includes any image of you and you waive any and all of your personality and privacy rights to the extent necessary to permit such use.
  5. You hereby acknowledge that motor racing the Event and certain activities associated therewith (including without limitation, support events) are dangerous. The Promoter, sanctioning bodies, Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, DORNA, IRTA and its affiliates, persons involved in the organization of the Event (including officials, marshals, rescue and medical staff), the competitors and drivers (such parties to include where relevant all directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors and affiliated companies), are not responsible for any loss or damage howsoever caused to you or your property to the maximum extent permitted by Austrian law (save that nothing in these conditions limits or excludes (i) liability for death or personal injury arising out of the negligence of any at the above mentioned parties, or (ii) any damage incurred by way of fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation by any of the above mentioned parties).
  6. It’s forbidden to use the name of the Event or part thereof (nor any abbreviation or foreign language version thereof) nor any logo or graphic device of or relating to the Event for any commercial purpose without the prior written consent of DORNA.
  7. By accepting the ticket, the visitor of the venue submits to the site rules and the access criteria in its current version.
  8. For security measures, you may be refused admission to/removed from the Venue/searched by officials/ filmed by CCTV.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by Austrian law excluding the UN Sales Convention and the referral rules of Austrian private international law.
