2015 March 13

100 days till the 2015 F1 Grand Prix of Austria

While the new Formula 1 engines are getting ready to rev for the first time to start the season in Melbourne, over in Spielberg there is already real anticipation in the air, as exactly 100 days from now the drivers will race it out at the 2015 Formula 1 Grand Prix of Austria. The excitement for motorsport in the area has not abated in the slightest since the thrilling comeback of the elite motor sport series to the Alpine country in 2014. From 19 to 21 June, the world’s eyes will once again be on the Red Bull Ring. Visitors will have loads of action and excitement to see close up, both on the track as well as in the incomparable side programme. The Legends Parade with many idols of Formula 1 history is set to ensure another great and emotional highlight again in 2015. The racing weekend in the Murtal valley will be another unforgettable motorsport festival for the whole family, with top concerts, an air show and F1 Village.

Incomparable Grand Prix weekend. Projekt Spielberg and the Red Bull Ring enjoyed the most spectacular year of their history in 2014. The comeback of Formula 1 to Austria gained international acclaim, plenty of praise from all the teams, and excited visitors and fans. The massive momentum created by the successful return is going to be carried into 2015 in order for the successful mix of Austrian charm, hospitality from the local Styria region, the stunning backdrop and top international motorsport to be revived from 19 to 21 June. In 100 days’ time the world’s eyes will be cast on the Murtal valley in Austria again for the eighth race of the season at the Red Bull Ring. This year there will once again be 50 young Austrian ladies as Formula Unas in traditional local dress to lend a delightful hand to the drivers. Visitors will get amazing insights into motorsport with an incomparable side programme both on and off the track. One great highlight - the Legends Parade with former Formula 1 stars in their old cars - will be back to truly keep spectators on the edge of their seats this year! The F1 Village, with its many fan activities and autograph sessions with the drivers, also awaits, while last but not least, various top musical acts will be keeping spirits high among visitors at the big Ö3 Concert Stage at the Red Bull Ring.

Emotional moments for Infiniti Red Bull Racing. Seeing over 200,000 spectators at their first home race was Infiniti Red Bull Racing’s most emotional moment in the 2014 season. There is therefore great anticipation among the Austrian racing team for the next Grand Prix in the Styria region. Team boss Christian Horner says: “We had a fantastic weekend in Spielberg. The Red Bull Ring offers the fans one of the best chances in the calendar of watching a Grand Prix live in person with its superb views over the entire circuit.”  Daniel Ricciardo knows only too well how it is to line up at the start in the unique setting of Spielberg, saying: “We had a superb time at the Red Bull Ring, with a fantastic atmosphere. The spectators are offered a huge amount of entertainment here. Formula 1 fans should not miss the race in Austria under any circumstances!”  Ricciardo’s new team-mate, Russia’s Daniil Kvyat, was still racing in GP3 and the Formula 3 European Championship in 2013, but made his Formula 1 debut for Toro Rosso in 2014, and is representing the top Austrian team in F1 a year later, at just 20 years of age.
