What’s happened so far at the #AustrianGP…

An unexpectedly relaxed press conference, taxi rides in an Aston Martin and happy faces in the Pitlane: That’s Day 1 in Spielberg.

The premier class of motorsport has camped out at the Red Bull Ring and here are the key details from the first day of the Formula One Grand Prix of Austria.

1502: Kevin Magnussen was literally the centre of attention when he was sandwiched between Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel in the press room where they face the first round of questions. The hot topic: what happened in Baku and how the media reacted to it. Both drivers say the subject is “closed”.

“Actually I don’t want to say anything more about it,” said Sebastian Vettel. “I apologised to Lewis and everything has been said. In the heat of the moment I made a mistake and I am sorry about that. It was unnecessary and now I am looking forward to getting back in my car.”

“I’ve said everything that needed to be said,” said Lewis Hamilton. “We talked through it with each other and I accept his apology. For me this chapter is done and my job is to focus myself on the next race.”
