Motorsport fans from all over the world will be looking to Styria in July when the top class starts the 2020 season with two premieres: For the first time ever, a Formula 1 season will be starting in Austria, two world championship races on the same race track on two consecutive weekends will be another premiere. The "Formula 1 Rolex Großer Preis von Österreich 2020" will open the season on July 5th, the "Formula 1 Pirelli Großer Preis der Steiermark 2020" will follow immediately afterwards on July 12th.

Racing and excitement on the race track

Chase Carey, CEO Formula 1, emphasizes the importance of the new beginning: "It is exciting that Formula 1 is returning and we are looking forward to starting the season with two races in Austria. With the Red Bull Ring we have an excellent partner on our side. We are working together to bring F1 back with the highest possible security measures for the fans. We are of course looking forward to the racing and excitement on the race track, but we are also considering what else we can do as an international sport for the regions where we are guests. During the Covid 19 crisis, thousands of people around the world have done great things. We want to highlight and celebrate those deeds!"
