Take the fast lane to the racing highlight of the year

In order to make the journey to the “NeroGiardini Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich” as pleasant as possible, numerous options are available. Public transport is the best way to arrive at Spielberg stress-free.

The stars of the MotoGP™ paddock are about to settle in and pitch their tents at Spielberg and we have some tips for all fans that want to join the party. Our top tip: the earlier you arrive, the better, and so an arrival time before 07:30 is recommended!  We’ve summarized the most important travelling information for the #AustrianGP here – clearly and concisely – so everyone can make the most of the action-packed weekend ahead!

Arrival: Numerous Options

    Travelling by car or motorbike? For the 2017 MotoGP weekend, most of the major traffic arteries of Austria are unimpeded. Due to the expected high traffic density at the over regional road works (A9/Selzthaltunnel, A9/Tunnel Wald, S6/St. Marien) we recommend an early arrival! Detailed information and route recommendations can be downloaded here. Tip: For keen motorbike riders, there are a lot of beautiful and nice motorcycle routes as an alternative to the A9 and S36: Coming from the North, go via Triebener Tauern, coming from the South, take the Gaberl.

    Guaranteeing a stress-free arrival, you might like to take the train to MotoGP: There are daily train connections from Graz, Vienna, Linz, Salzburg, Klagenfurt and Villach to the station at Knittelfeld. From there, in addition to the bus terminal of Judenburg, fans can jump on the Shuttle-Busses to Spielberg, stopping directly at the Red Bull Ring.     Furthermore, Postbus (timetables at www.postbus.at) and Eventbus are offering special MotoGP travel coaches for the weekend with over 200 stops from departure points all around Austria. More information available here.

    Are you planning to travel the last meters to the Red Bull Ring without an engine or stress? We recommend ‘Nimm’s Radl’, so take your bicycle! Driving the majority of your journey by car and then swapping to your bike can make your trip much shorter: avoid the traffic and enjoy the beautiful nature and scenery. There are two Park-&-Bike stations close to the Red Bull Ring: Großlobming (7.3 km away, close to Schlossweg 19, 8734 Großlobming) and at Weißkirchen (9.7 km away, B77, Judenburgstraße 32, 8741 Weißkirchen). Park your car and take your bicycle via the cycling routes (Download plans here) to the Red Bull Ring. There is also a dedicated bicycle parking station at the Ring at L503, Spielbergerstraße.
