As you can imagine, the 26-year-old also can’t wait for the the showdown in Spielberg to commence. “The KTM project is going remarkably well. I think it actually exceeds all expectations. But of course, one always wants to achieve more, especially here in Austria. Last year’s atmosphere and the support of the fans who knew that Pol and I would start for KTM were already awesome. All eyes will be on our RC16s and we will certainly give our best when  the red lights go out,” Bradley Smith who, together with teammate Pol Espargaró (ESP), will compete for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing at their first home race.

A wild card for a motorcycle racing highlight: Kofler will compete in Moto3 home race

Maximilian Kofler was practically born with a helmet on his head. His father Klaus Kofler, a former local championship contender, supports the Upper Austrian on his way to the top. The 16-year-old currently competes in the Italian CIV Moto3 championship and could already prove his talent in many championships. On the Red Bull Ring, benefiting from a wild card, the KTM rider from Attnang-Puchheim will start in his first home race in Moto3 race a few days shy of his 17th birthday and is ecstatic about it: “I couldn't be happier to be given the chance to take part in such an event. The fact that my performances have earned me a wild card makes me very proud indeed. I will focus on seizing this opportunity to learn as much as I can from the other riders and – of course – to give the home crowd a good show!” Besides Maximilian, his brother Andreas will burn some rubber in the partner series ADAC Junior Cup.
