Very special tunes will be once again heard at the Red Bull Ring between 23 and 27 August, 2017. The Spielberg Musikfestival attracts music lovers from wide and far with folk music interpreted with a modern touch. The open-air concert will be headlined by one of the country’s greatest live bands: Die SEER! The line-up furthermore includes Django 3000, SOLOzuVIERT, MAINFELT and, of course, the winners of the MyStage Bandcontest.
Die SEER offer more than just entertainment. For more than 20 years, these eight musicians and individuals that have joined forces to form an ensemble, have been putting their attitudes about life into notes, words and arrangements and sent them on a journey into their audience’s mind. “We are looking forward to coming to Spielberg since we know that, thanks to our annual STAD concerts, SEER have lots of friends there. Spielberg Musikfestival is unique in Austria. In recent years, the event has made a name for itself by providing a platform for young talents performing dialect music. We are exceedingly happy to once again be a part of this great event in 2017,” says Fred Jaklitsch, lead singer and mastermind behind SEER.
DJANGO 3000, the party quartet from the Chiemgau region, are touring the world to promote their new album. In August, they will stop at Spielberg Musikfestival to rock the stage, play their groovy “Desperados” and make the crowd go wild. Following the motto “Bonaparty is over, the party goes on!” they want to conquer musical borders at the Spielberg Musikfestival 2017. “To us, playing at Spielberg Music Festival almost feels like coming home. After all, we have been coming here regularly ever since the first time it was staged. Those who have experienced it before know: It will be wild, loud and absolutely crazy. Yelling Hopaaa!”, Flo, Jan-Philipp, Kamil and Michi invite their fans to come and join the action!
SOLOzuVIERT promise to have themselves a “Good time” at the fifth Spielberg Musikfestival: With their four guitars as well as intoxicating and down-to-earth songs, the four Styrians Horst Klimstein, Uwe Hölzl, Benji Hassler and Chris Watzik revive the glory days of Austropop. Their songs impressively prove that there is still plenty of life in dialect music and Austropop.
MAINFELT’s “Hardcrafted and Heartmade” folk-rock goes right under one’s skin. With guitar, banjo, bass and drums, Patrick, Kevin, Veit and Willy wow their audiences over and over again with lots of passion and a shot of whisky in their voices. They are bringing their new album “Backwards Around the Sun” which is packed with songs about their universal attitude towards life and their “life on the road” lifestyle to the Spielberg Musikfestival 2017. They make their audiences chime in and dance with their authenticity, a big serving of humanity and unique charm.
From its very beginnings, the Spielberg Musikfestival has always seen itself as a supporter and platform for up-and-coming young talents. That’s why in 2017, it will stage the MyStage Bandcontest for the third time. Young artists are given the chance to apply with their sound samples or videos. An expert jury will pre-select a chosen few. After that, the audience will be able to vote for their favourites online and decide who will open the Open Air at the Red Bull Ring on Saturday, 26 August, 2017.
