Five thousands of a second decide ELMS qualifying

The grid positions for the “4 Hours of Red Bull Ring” have been decided. Léo Roussel (FRA) earned pole position for G-Drive-Racing together with his team-mates Memo Rojas (MEX) and Nicolas Minassian (FRA). The race will start on Sunday at 13:00. Anybody who missed the Pit Walk today will have another chance tomorrow at 09:50!

Magnificent sunshine, a perfect lap in Qualifying and some amazing close-up experiences during the Pit Walk – this was the Saturday at the ELMS at Spielberg. 36 cars with around 100 drivers from 21 nations lapped the Red Bull Ring in Saturday’s highlight for the ELMS Qualifying. The fastest lap of the ELMS premier class LMP2 was 1:18.435 – it meant pole position for young Frenchman Léo Roussel for the Russian Team G-Drive and his colleagues Memo Rojas (MEX) and Nicolas Minassian (FRA). Roussel will do the start stint on Sunday in the Oreca 07 – Gibson and was smiling: “It was a perfect lap!”

I'm addition to qualifying, the first races of the feeder series Michelin Le Mans Cup and Formula Renault Eurocup went ahead.

Packed Sunday

Fans can also enjoy the open paddock ELMS Village on Sunday, where there will be BMX and stunt shows to start the Endurance action at the Red Bull Ring. At 13:00 the lights will go out for the “4 Hours of Red Bull Ring”. Sunday is free of charge on all open grandstands.
