Max(imum) Action: Formula 1 starts with a show run in Graz

Together with Max Verstappen thousands of fans celebrate a special “warm up” at Schloßberg and are looking forward to the Austrian GP (28 to 30 June) at Spielberg. Tickets are still available!

Max Verstappen has done it again: With his show run in Graz, the Dutchman makes Austrian motorsport enthusiasts go wild. His “conquest of Schloßberg” behind the wheel of a 900-bhp F1 thoroughbred marked the unofficial opening of the racing weekend at the Red Bull Ring: “My motto was to have fun and put the pedal to the metal. I have already raced up a mountain on snow (Hahnenkamm 2016). Back then I was nervous. Today’s route was pretty bumpy but for me, it is still special to run up Schloßberg in a Formula 1 car. There was hardly any space in the first corner and I suffered from a lot of wheel spin, but I like that anyway,” the Red Bull Racing driver reports.

Thousands of motorsport fans were there to witness the action at Karmeliterplatz and Kasematten. Before watching the Formula 1 show run up Schloßberg live, the fans collected autographs and pictures with and of Max Verstappen and the Scuderia Toro Rosso drivers Daniil Kvyat and Alexander Albon.

Schloßberg grüßt Spielberg

Following the motto “Schloßberg grüßt Spielberg” Graz has been the Red Bull Ring’s partner city since 2012 which also makes it the country’s motorsport capital. Max Verstappen’s show run once again showed that the Austrians’ great passion for Formula 1 continues and all fans can look forward to an amazing Austrian GP.
