Max Verstappen earns his second Red Bull Ring triumph!

Over 200,000 fans visit the Motorsport-Super-Weekend.

Thank you! 203,000 fans (Thursday to Sunday) experienced one of the most exciting Formula 1 races of the year! It has been a proper (Motorsport) festival!

Verstappen again!

You can’t take anything for granted at the Red Bull Ring and that was proven once again at the 2019 Austrian GP! Max Verstappen took his second victory in a row here and was able to stop the Silver Arrows. Ferrari were also mixing it up at the sharp end again.

This weekend’s Top-Five at the Red Bull Ring: Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc and Valtteri Bottas made up the podium, followed by Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton (who missed out on the podium for the first time this season) in fourth and fifth respectively.

Hard racing for the win

It was 71 action packed laps at the Red Bull Ring but it even got more exciting by a spectacular wheel-to-wheel duel between Verstappen and Leclerc in turn three during the penultimate lap. Leclerc: “I’ll let the Stewards decide but I had a quite clear view from the cockpit. I don’t know how it looked from the outside, we have to wait and see.

Fighting the heat: Mercedes in trouble

Not happy but satisfied – that’s how Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas presented himself. “It has been more difficult than expected as our engine was overheating and we had to control the temperature. But we still got some points after this weekend and overall it is not too bad.” Hamilton (197 points) continues to lead the 2019 Formula 1 World Championship, 31 points in front of Bottas (166). Verstappen (126) took over third, followed by Vettel (123).

Thank you, Niki!

Austria’s national hero Niki Lauda was heavily missed at the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Spielberg. On Sunday, Turn 1 was renamed the “Niki Lauda Corner” and fans doned 60,000 red caps to celebrate the Austrian legend.

Legends …

The legendary Legends Parade at the Red Bull Ring was held once more and featured: Gerhard Berger, Hans-Joachim Stuck, Jean Alesi, Dr Helmut Marko and Dieter Quester, taking their Supercars for a lap. US actor Patrick Dempsey took part as well and premium manufacturers as Porsche, McLaren, Bugatti and Aston Martin showed off the Limited Editions of their respective high class range.

… and celebrities.

Spice Girl Geri Horner, skiing star Thomas Dreßen and singer/presenter Victoria Swarovski as well as Austrian’s ÖFB-Team players RB Marcel Sabitzer and Aleksandar Dragovic: the stars shone on super Sunday.
