Thrills before qualifying at Spielberg

Ducati presses on before KTM fights back on Friday. Other teams within striking distance of the front

There was sheer excitement in the first practice sessions on Friday at the Red Bull Ring – as virtually the entire field was separated by just one second in the opening session. Quickest of them all was Australian Jack Miller from Ducati, with Stefan Bradl (Honda) finishing just a second behind in 21st. More of the same would be great!

KTM, Honda, Suzuki – or Ducati again?

In the second practice session, Pol Espargaró and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing made another show of their credentials for a home win at Spielberg with the fastest lap, while behind them in second and third were the strong Japanese rider Takaaki Nakagami (Honda) and Spain‘s Joan Mir (Suzuki). MotoGP fans can look forward to an extraordinary Sunday as several producers and numerous riders take on the challenge of stopping another Ducati win in Spielberg.

Moto2 and Moto3 riders on the Green Carpet

Following the stars of MotoGP, the Moto2 and Moto3 riders also excitedly took to the opportunity to greet fans from across the world virtually on the Styrian Green Carpet – with plenty of greetings, predictions and congratulations. Taking part was Austria’s Maximilian Kofler, who is competing in Moto3.
