Race around the Red Bull Ring in electric cars

Austria’s most fantastic playground will be electrified on the 29th and 30th of September 2017. The “Krone E-Mobility Play Days” will be all about the future mobility. A special focus will lie on the presentation of brand-new technology, especially regarding e-cars, and of course visitors will be able to try plenty of those at the Red Bull Ring itself and in the Driving Center. Several notable manufacturers will put their cars on the track, experts will present trend-setting technology from the wide field of e-mobility. Formula E will – for the first time – take to an Austrian track with showruns on the Red Bull Ring, as will several other impressive e-supersportscars and many more. Plenty of celebrities from sports and business have made it clear that they will not to miss any of the action. Tickets are available already!

Instead of the usual combustion engines, the “Krone E-Mobility Play Days” will bring electricity to the Red Bull Ring. E-mobility is quite often only little noticed, plenty of questions remain unanswered. How mobility is about to change can be seen on the 29th and 30th of September at the Spielberg. Visitors can see the latest innovations and actively take part in experiencing them. Notable car-manufacturers have their vehicles ready for testing at the Driving Center and the north circuit of the Red Bull Ring: BMW i3, Hyundai Ioniq, Nissan Leaf, Renault Zoe, Twizy and Kangoo Z.E., as well as Volkswagen with it’s e-up! and the e-Golf. Austrian Mobile Power will organize both handling tracks. On top of that a second-hand e-market is being planned, that will be another gateway to the world of e-mobility.

Showruns on the south circuit and big names

The south circuit at the Red Bull Ring will become the playground for impressive vehicles and their pilots. Among the highlights you can expect E-sportscars, the first e-rallye-car (HIPER MK1) and autonomous cars from virtual vehicle. Besides that ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport, a top-team from the world championship, will bring their Formula-E-cars. Swiss world-champion Sébastien Buemi will sign autographs, shoot selfies with fans and offer tricks and advice. Stars from MotoGP and DTM are expected to drop by. Austrian former skier and tv-pundit Hans Knauss and former ski-jumper Thomas Morgenstern will visit the “Krone E-Mobility Play Days” alongside former ski-stars Renate Götschl and Armin Assinger.

Innovative companies show what they can do

Energy for e-vehicles has to be effectively stored, easily available and produced in an ecological way. Especially Energie Steiermark stands for environmentally friendly energy at the “Krone E-Mobility Play Days”. SMATRICS, leading provider of nationwide charging-infrastructure, and battery-producer Kreisel, work on improving storage-capacity and charging-times. The Kreisel-brothers have become known as one of the most innovative battery-producers, even outfitting Arnold Schwarzenegger’s car. Post AG, the biggest e-fleet-operator in Austria, will show their carpool and Uniqa will give advice on taylor-made insurance-products. ÖAMTC will offer help with e-breakdown-services and advice on buying e-vehicles. Austria’s biggest automobile association also has a special treat for all children and will bring e-trial-bikes to the Red Bull Ring.
