Two chances for home victory when DTM comes 2018 to Spielberg

Two Austrians – Tyrolean Lucas Auer and Salzburg native Philipp Eng – will fight for glory when the DTM Series makes spectators go crazy with roaring engines from 21 to 23 September 2018.

Thrilling overtakes, pit stops and two races with an equal number of qualifying sessions: In September, the DTM returns to the Red Bull Ring! DTM fans can secure their tickets for the series’ Austrian race, its penultimate round and thus the crucial stage in the season here.

Celebrations in red, white and red?

Tyrolean Lucas Auer’s portfolio includes a total of four wins in the DTM. Yet he is still waiting for that prestigious home victory at the Red Bull Ring. In the overall standings, the Austrian is currently waiting for his chance to pounce in 4th place. He has not yet abandoned his title hopes. In the DTM, a whopping 56 points are up for grabs on a single weekend, after all.

In 2018, a second Austrian – Philip Eng – has joined the ranks in the DTM. The thoroughbred racer knows the circuit from many campaigns in other racing series: “I love racing on the Red Bull Ring. For me, it’s one of the prettiest race tracks around, boasting a fun layout with long straights, slow 90-degree-turns and fast corners.” When it comes to his home race in Spielberg, the Salzburg native makes no secret of his ambitions: “I want to win my first race in the DTM at the Red Bull Ring!”

Fight for DTM crown will be decided at Spielberg

A total of 20 races on tracks all over Europe, three manufacturers fighting neck and neck, limited pit radio, reduced aerodynamics, 18 drivers whose performance is key, cars with thunderous V8 engines, relentless fights for positions and a high-class field of drivers: The DTM’s recipe for success prevails in 2018! Domestic fans are guaranteed to experience a thrilling Austrian round, especially considering that the fight for the 2018 crown draws near.

Focus on junior racers in the partner series

Apart from the most popular international touring car series, many talented junior drivers will provide additional action on the 4.138-km track in the various partner series. Austrian Ferdinand Habsburg-Lothringen will partake in his home race in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship side by side with the likes of Mick Schumacher, son of Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher.

Paddock tickets for the pure DTM experience

Real DTM fans get their hands on exclusive paddock tickets for the race at the Red Bull Ring. Among others, these allow them to access pit lane where the teams work on their race cars. Three so-called Pitview Areas – one for each manufacturer – provide fans with the opportunity (separated only by a glass pane) to watch the technicians setting the cars up for the race. A second way to gain access to the teams’ sanctuaries are the Pitwalks on Saturday and Sunday.
