Styrian GP: Fans support their stars on interactive grandstand

Another novelty: At the "Formula 1 Pirelli Großer Preis der Steiermark" fans can support their favorite drivers in real time via Twitter hashtags.

When Max Verstappen, Daniil Kvyat, Sebastian Vettel, Pierre Gasly, Valtteri Bottas and all the other F1 drivers pass the T10 grandstand, at the end of the last corner of the circuit, at about 200 km/h, they will be able to see the virtual support of their fans during this race weekend. LED technology makes it possible for fans to push their F1 stars in real time over a 915 square metre LED screen positioned in the T10 finish turn. This unique fan integration in Formula 1 will be used for the first time during the Styrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring.

The F1 teams are also very enthusiastic about it. Max Verstappen is delighted with the exceptional fan support: "It's a great opportunity for the fans to take part in the race anyway. I can't wait to see what it looks like when we get to the track. Scuderia AlphaTauri driver Daniil Kvyat is also enthusiastic: "We know that the fans also want to be there from home. It's great that new, albeit virtual, ways are always being found to keep in touch!"

How does the fan support at the Red Bull Ring work?

Every driver has his own hashtag, which is made up of the initials and the number of the car. Hashtags posted on Twitter are counted in real time per lap and the most popular driver is displayed on the LED screen on the T10 grandstand. Thanks to this fan initiative, the F1 stars are guaranteed to feel the energy of their fans throughout the 71 laps.

PS: Those who want to get a taste of the T10 interactive grandstand will have the opportunity to do so during practice on Friday and qualifying on Saturday. During the live broadcast, the team hashtags rotate directly at the last turn of the Red Bull Ring.
